A week ago my parents came out to San Diego and we went out and did whale watching and a couple of other things I hadn't done before. Here is the video highlights:

I made my first Air Application
I spent some time tonight and made my first Adobe Air application. It was the test app that Adobe gives for Dreamweaver...yep I installed Dreamweaver just to try it out...it was super easy and they include an extension for Air so that you can turn any site or program editable by Dreamweaver.
Pretty easy to use...will try and mess around with a couple other apps and see how I can make it work for me.

Wii Media Center
Finally there is a media center that is compatible with Wii. I know that when I bought the Wii that it was more of a gaming platform as opposed to a media center, but it is still nice that there are options. Check out the post by LifeHacker on how to set it up.

Start your favorite programs when you turn on your computer
Every morning I would turn on my computer and click on the icons for my commonly used Programs: Firefox, Thunderbird, and Internet Explorer. Yesterday I easily set it up so that these programs startup when I turn on my computer. Here is how you can do it(This is for Windows XP):
- Right click on your Start Menu and select Explore
- There you will see programs and possibly a folder called startup, if you don't see a folder called startup then double click on the Programs folder
- Once you have found the statup folder then drag the shortcuts of the programs you want to start into that folder.
- Now that they are in there, on boot those programs will start.

Dog's teaching kids how to read...
I had a dog show running in the background today and before each dog was walked back and forth for the crowd they talked about their personal life, what they liked to do, and if they were involved in any charity work like going to hospitals etc. One dog was said to help kids read. Now I have no idea what they judge dogs on in those shows, but if a dog can teach a kid how to read...I'd say they should win.

2 years ago today...
I asked my wife to marry me. I remember it like it was yesterday...
I wanted the night to be special so we went to our favorite restaurant, Red Lobster(cheddar roles are awesome). After dinner I took her to where we had our first date, which was a Starbucks. From there we went back to my apartment and I had the ring hidden in a drawer next to the couch. I had made a little flip book that had pictures in it of us throughout our relationship and on the last page it said look at me. I had managed to grab the ring, still in the box, and had it ready and I asked her to marry me.
2 years later we are happily married.
Pam, Thank you for saying yes.

Initial Hulu beta show a lot of impressive features
I am one of the fortunate ones (or one millions) who got an initial beta to Hulu. It is something I've been waiting for as they have Simpsons, Futurama, and Arrested Development. They have a good amount of episodes to start and the video quality is good while some of the audio quality still lacks and is tinny. They do have some impressive features like the ability to specify the period within a clip/episode that you'd like to embed instead of embedding the whole 3-21 min clip.
Something I'd like to see more of is an easier more granular search which will allow to search for keywords within the episodes.
But initial reaction is it is about time there came out with approved video site so that I can continue to reference my favorite videos.
Here is an example of a clip I scaled down from one of my favorite shows Arrested Development:

Microsoft looking to buy Yahoo...
I can't say I didn't see it coming. Microsoft has never been strong in the internet search arena and yahoo has been a far second to Google. But maybe combined they may offer a force to be reckoned with, especially with a majority of the projects being duplicated that can be merged to save time and energy:
Yahoo mail and Hotmail dev can merge
Live Maps and Yahoo Maps can merge
MSN and Yahoo search merge
And many more
This would be a great step for yahoo to take, especially with the news of layoffs...maybe they can pull those pink slips back and move towards success with Microsoft.
We'll see
